Ibaraki city wind orchestra(Ibasui) is established in 1964 as a civic wind orchestra for social education and improving the musical culture in Ibaraki city. At first, 20 members started activities with Mr. Isao Harada(conductor) and Mr. Nobuo Itoh(lecturer).

In 1967, we installed Mr. Masayuki Nakahara as a conductor. Even now, Mr. Nakahara is our resident conductor. In 1985, we had a concert for the school for disabled children in Ibaraki. And then, we had had “Tasogare concert(Twilight concert)” for elementary and junior high school every August up to 1993.

Recently we have had “Fureai concert(Friendship concert)” for preschool children at “Shogai gakushu center(Lifelong study center)”, “Keiai concert” for welfare facilities for the aged. We always effort to have communications with local communities via music.
